Frequently asked questions about music for waiting rooms
What type of music is suitable for a waiting room?
- Soft and unobtrusive styles generally work well, including instrumental music, Ambient, piano, relaxed Jazz, Lounge and Chill-Out. The selection should accompany the waiting period without interfering with conversations or customer care.
What benefits can background music offer?
- It can make the space feel more pleasant, reduce the impression of silence and contribute to a professional and carefully managed atmosphere. The result will depend on the music style, volume, acoustics and type of audience.
Can music make waiting periods feel more comfortable?
- A calm music selection can accompany the waiting period and contribute to a more comfortable atmosphere. It does not replace any medical or therapeutic intervention, but it can improve the general perception of the space.
Is instrumental music better than songs with vocals?
- Both options can work, although instrumental music and songs with discreet vocals often blend more naturally into a waiting room. It is advisable to avoid prominent lyrics or styles that make conversations more difficult.
What volume is recommended?
- The music should remain in the background and allow customers, patients and staff to speak normally. The volume can be adjusted according to the floor area, acoustics, number of visitors and proximity of the speakers.
In which types of premises can FreeMusix be used?
- FreeMusix can be used in medical practices, dental clinics, physiotherapy centres, professional offices, accountancy and advisory firms, workplaces, aesthetic centres, training centres and other premises with a waiting or reception area.
Can I also use FreeMusix in the reception area and other spaces?
- FreeMusix can be used in reception areas, waiting rooms and other spaces on the premises. Coverage across several zones and simultaneous playback systems will depend on the contracted plan and the technical configuration of the sound system.
Do I need to install any special equipment?
- No specialist equipment is normally required. You can use a computer, tablet or mobile phone connected to your speakers or amplifier. For continuous use, we recommend a dedicated playback device and a stable internet and audio connection.
When can I download the Certificate and supporting documentation?
- The Certificate and supporting documentation will be available in your Customer Area once the paid subscription is active. They will not be available during the 14-day free trial unless you expressly request immediate activation by email and waive the free trial period.
Should I keep the Certificate accessible?
- We recommend keeping it accessible. Once the paid subscription is active, you can provide the Certificate, the supporting documentation available in your Customer Area and the invoice associated with the contracted plan.
Can I play Spotify, YouTube or external music under the FreeMusix Certificate?
- No. The Certificate and supporting documentation apply exclusively to the music catalogue supplied by FreeMusix. Music, radio stations and playlists from other platforms fall outside the scope of the service.
Does subscribing to FreeMusix remove every other legal obligation?
- FreeMusix provides access to its catalogue and the documentation associated with the contracted service. However, requirements may vary by country, jurisdiction, type of premises and manner of use, and additional obligations may apply in relation to local collecting societies, authorities or other organisations. We recommend checking the requirements applicable in each territory.
Does one subscription cover several waiting rooms?
- Coverage across several waiting rooms, zones or simultaneous playback systems will depend on the contracted plan and the technical configuration of the premises. Locations at different addresses must be included in the applicable plan or tailored proposal.
Can you prepare a proposal for several clinics, practices or offices?
- Yes. We can assess the number of locations, floor areas and music requirements to prepare a tailored proposal for groups, clinic networks and multi-site organisations.
How much does background music for a waiting room cost?
- The price depends on the total floor area of the premises. Annual plans start at €42 plus VAT for premises of up to 50 m². For several locations or larger organisations, we can prepare a tailored proposal.
What should I provide if I am asked about the music used on the premises?
- You can provide the Certificate and supporting documentation available in your Customer Area, together with the invoice for the active plan. The information should correspond to the premises and conditions included in the contracted service.
