Frequently Asked Questions About FreeMusix
This page answers the most common questions about how FreeMusix works, the free trial, subscriptions, the Certificate, background music playback and our solutions for businesses, companies, institutions, chains and B2B projects.
Subscriptions, free trial, payments and billing
How do I subscribe to FreeMusix?
- To subscribe to FreeMusix, create an account, enter the details of your business location, select the plan that corresponds to the area you want to cover with music and add a payment method. Once registration is complete, you will be able to access your Customer Area and start listening to the available music channels.
Can I try FreeMusix before the first payment?
- Yes. FreeMusix offers a 14-day free trial so that you can explore the platform and check how it works in your business. You will be able to listen to the music during this period, but the Certificate and supporting documentation will not be available until the paid subscription is active.
When is the first payment taken?
- The first payment is processed at the end of the 14-day free trial, provided that you continue with the service. When you need to activate the paid subscription earlier and obtain the documentation, you may request this by email and waive the free trial period.
Can I activate the subscription before the free trial ends?
- Yes. You may expressly request immediate activation of the subscription by email. In this case, you will waive the free trial period and the payment will be processed when the service is activated.
Where can I download my FreeMusix invoices?
- Once the payment has been processed successfully, the invoice will be available in your Customer Area. You can view and download it there whenever you need it.
Can I change my business or billing details?
- Yes. You can update your company or business details from the Customer Area. We recommend checking them before an invoice is issued. When you need to correct a document that has already been generated, contact our team so that we can review the case.
What happens if my card payment fails or is declined?
- When a payment cannot be completed, the subscription may remain pending or become restricted until the issue is resolved. Check your payment method and contact us when the problem continues so that we can review the status of your account.
Does FreeMusix store my full card details?
- No. Payments are processed through Stripe, a secure payment platform. FreeMusix does not access or store your complete card details.
How can I cancel my subscription?
- You may request cancellation in accordance with the conditions applicable to your plan. We recommend managing the cancellation before the next renewal date. When you are unsure about the next payment date or the status of your account, contact us before cancelling.
Can I reactivate my account later?
- Yes. In most cases, you will be able to reactivate your account or subscribe to the service again. When you still have your login details, try accessing your Customer Area. Our team can help when you are unable to sign in.
Does one subscription cover several business locations?
- Not automatically. Each business location, site or playback point must be included in the contracted plan or proposal. When you manage several locations, a chain or a franchise, we can prepare a combined solution.
How FreeMusix background music works
What is FreeMusix?
- FreeMusix is a background music platform for businesses, companies and institutions. It provides streaming access to a music catalogue organised by styles and moods, with plans for individual venues, multi-site organisations, chains and B2B projects.
What does royalty-free music for commercial use mean?
- It means that the music is used in accordance with the conditions of the contracted service and the catalogue supplied by FreeMusix. It does not mean that the works have no authors, that they are in the public domain or that any external song can be used under our Certificate.
What do I need to play music with FreeMusix?
- You only need an active account, an internet-connected device and a sound system. You can use a computer, tablet or mobile phone connected to your speakers, amplifier or audio installation.
Do I need to install any special equipment or software?
- No. FreeMusix does not require you to purchase a dedicated player or complete a complex installation. You can start using the service with a compatible device and a stable internet connection.
Can I use FreeMusix from a mobile phone, tablet or computer?
- Yes. The service can be used on different compatible devices. For daily use in a business, we recommend using a device dedicated to music playback whenever possible.
Does FreeMusix have Android and iOS apps?
- Yes. You can use the web player and download the FreeMusix app for Android or the FreeMusix app for iOS.
Can the music be downloaded as audio files?
- No. FreeMusix operates as a streaming service. Songs are not supplied as individual files that can be downloaded, copied or played outside the platform.
What happens if the internet connection is interrupted?
- An interruption to your internet connection may stop playback. Check the network, restart the app or player and select the channel again. For reliable performance, we recommend a fixed connection or a dependable Wi-Fi network.
What audio quality does FreeMusix use?
- Playback is provided in MP3 format at 128 Kbps, a suitable quality for background music and professional environments, offering a good balance between sound clarity and connection stability.
Does the music include advertising?
- No. FreeMusix channels contain music and do not insert third-party advertising between tracks.
How often are the music channels updated?
- We periodically review and refresh the programming to keep the channels varied and reduce the feeling of repetition. The update frequency may vary depending on the style and type of channel.
Can I change music channels whenever I want?
- Yes. You can move from one channel to another depending on the time of day, your audience or the atmosphere you want to create. For example, the same venue may use a calm selection in the morning and a more energetic channel in the afternoon.
Certificate, documentation and scope of the service
Is FreeMusix intended for customer-facing and public spaces?
- Yes. The service is designed for businesses, companies, institutions and other professional spaces that use background music as part of their daily activity.
What does the FreeMusix Certificate confirm?
- The Certificate confirms that there is an active subscription connected to the use of the music catalogue supplied by FreeMusix, within the conditions of the contracted plan and for the playback points included in the subscription.
When can I download the Certificate and supporting documentation?
- The Certificate and supporting documentation will be available in your Customer Area once the paid subscription is active. They will not be available during the 14-day free trial unless you expressly request immediate activation by email and waive the free trial period.
Can I obtain the Certificate before the free trial ends?
- Yes. You may request immediate activation of the paid subscription by email. In this case, you will waive the free trial and the Certificate will become available once activation has been completed.
Does the Certificate remain valid when the subscription is no longer active?
- No. The Certificate is linked to an active subscription and the conditions of the contracted plan. Once the service has ended, it no longer confirms that a current subscription is in place.
Does the FreeMusix documentation apply to any music?
- No. The Certificate and the rest of the documentation apply exclusively to the music catalogue supplied by FreeMusix. They do not cover songs, radio stations, playlists or content from other platforms.
Can I use Spotify, YouTube or a radio station under the FreeMusix Certificate?
- No. Music that is not supplied by FreeMusix falls outside the scope of the service and the documentation provided. To rely on that documentation, you must use only the channels and catalogue included in the platform.
Why is it important to provide the correct business location and floor area?
- The plan, invoice and documentation must correspond to the actual use of the service. Enter the correct company name, address, floor area and any other requested information. When something changes, update the information or notify us.
What is the difference between the Certificate and the invoice?
- The Certificate confirms the connection between the business location, the service and the FreeMusix catalogue. The invoice confirms payment for the contracted plan. They are different documents and, where relevant, both should be retained.
What should I provide during an inspection or a request for information?
- You can provide the Certificate and documentation available in your Customer Area, together with the invoice for the active plan. The details must correspond to the business location and playback point included in the subscription.
Can additional legal obligations apply in some countries?
- Yes. Regulations vary according to the country, jurisdiction, type of business and the way the music is used. FreeMusix documents the use of its own catalogue, but additional obligations may apply in relation to local collecting societies, authorities or other organisations. We recommend checking the requirements that apply in the territory where the service is used.
Can I use FreeMusix outside Spain?
- Yes. The service can be used in different countries. Before subscribing, review the local regulations and contact us when you need to confirm the scope of the documentation in a particular territory.
Does the information on this page constitute legal advice?
- No. These questions explain how FreeMusix generally works, but they do not constitute legal advice. When you have a specific question concerning an inspection, a collecting society or the regulations of a particular country, you should obtain professional advice.
Devices, internet connection and sound systems
Can I connect FreeMusix to my business sound system?
- Yes. You can connect the playback device to an amplifier, active speakers, a soundbar or a background audio installation, provided that a compatible input is available.
Is a cable or Bluetooth connection better?
- Both options can work. For permanent installations, we recommend a cable connection because it generally provides greater stability. Bluetooth is convenient where cabling is not possible, although interruptions or disconnections may occur depending on the device and distance.
Can I use Alexa or an Echo device?
- You can use an Alexa or Echo device as a Bluetooth speaker and send audio to it from a mobile phone, tablet or computer. This does not mean that FreeMusix has a direct Alexa integration or a dedicated Alexa skill.
Does FreeMusix work with Bluetooth speakers?
- Yes, provided that the device used to play FreeMusix can connect correctly to the speaker or sound system.
Does it work with amplifiers, soundbars and background audio systems?
- Yes. FreeMusix can be used with different audio configurations. The important point is that the sound system can receive the signal from the playback device and that the installation provides sufficient power and coverage for the space.
What type of internet connection do you recommend?
- A very high connection speed is not usually required, but the connection should remain stable during playback hours. For businesses with weak coverage or congested Wi-Fi networks, we recommend using Ethernet or improving the wireless access point.
Can I play music in several areas of the same business location?
- Yes, provided that all areas belong to the same playback point included in the plan and the sound system distributes the audio signal correctly. Different addresses or separate business locations must be included separately in the subscription.
Music channels, styles and custom programming
What music styles are available on FreeMusix?
- The catalogue includes channels featuring Pop, Jazz, Chill Out, Ambient, Electronic, Latin music, Lo-Fi, Classical, Relaxation, Christmas music, Flamenco, Italian music and other selections created for different spaces and audiences.
Is the music selected for use in customer-facing spaces?
- Yes. The programming is designed to create a pleasant and professional atmosphere in business premises, offices, healthcare facilities, commercial spaces and institutions.
Can I choose music according to my type of business?
- Yes. You can select the channel that best matches your activity, opening hours and customer profile. A pharmacy or waiting room will usually need a different atmosphere from a gym, shop or leisure venue.
How many songs are included in each channel?
- This depends on the style and programming. Some channels contain hundreds of songs, while others include broader selections. The catalogue is reviewed and expanded periodically.
Is seasonal music available for Christmas and other campaigns?
- Yes. FreeMusix offers seasonal channels, including Christmas music, which can be used during specific campaigns and periods of the year.
Can I request a custom music channel for my brand?
- Yes. For B2B projects, we can explore programming adapted to the brand identity, audience profile, opening hours or different types of business location.
Can I add my own music to the platform?
- The standard service uses the FreeMusix catalogue. The inclusion of your own content or third-party music is considered only for customised projects and when the applicable rights and conditions of use can be verified in advance.
Chains, multiple locations and B2B solutions
I manage several locations. How should I subscribe to FreeMusix?
- Each location must be included in the subscription. For chains, franchises, clinic networks, offices or groups of venues, we can prepare a combined proposal based on the number of locations, their floor areas and the required management features.
Does FreeMusix offer solutions for chains and franchises?
- Yes. We work with multi-site organisations that need a consistent music identity across different locations. The proposal may include several playback points, selected channels and conditions adapted to the size of the project.
Can corporate messages, promotions or custom announcements be included?
- Yes. We can integrate corporate messages, promotions and audio announcements into customised projects. This option is not included in the standard plans and is quoted according to the volume, languages and frequency of playback.
Does FreeMusix produce voice-overs and audio content?
- Yes. We can produce voice-overs, corporate messages and other audio content in different languages. Before production begins, we define the script, voice, tone and integration format.
Do you work with integrators, operators and digital signage companies?
- Yes. FreeMusix can operate as a music provider for operators, integrators, platforms and companies that need to distribute music content to third parties. Visit our royalty-free music provider page or request a customised proposal.
Can you prepare a proposal for large venues or international projects?
- Yes. We assess large spaces, international networks and operations with specific technical or documentation requirements. To evaluate the project, we need to know the number of locations, countries, floor areas and the intended playback system.
Technical support and customer service
Does FreeMusix provide customer support?
- Yes. Support is mainly provided through online channels, and we respond during business hours as quickly as possible. To help us resolve an issue, include the email address linked to your account, the device you are using and a brief description of the problem.
What should I do when I cannot access my account?
- Check that you are using the correct email address and password. When access still fails, try resetting your password and confirm that the subscription is active. Contact our team when the problem continues.
What should I do when the music does not play correctly?
- Check the internet connection, volume, audio output and connection to the sound system. Closing and reopening the app or browser may also help. When the issue continues, tell us which device, operating system and music channel you were using.
What should I do when I cannot find the Certificate or an invoice?
- First, check your Customer Area and confirm that the paid subscription is active and that the payment has been processed. When the documentation is not available, contact us so that we can review your account.
Can I request a customised proposal?
- Yes. When you manage several locations, a large venue, a chain or a B2B project, send us the basic project details and we will prepare a proposal adapted to your requirements.
How can I contact FreeMusix?
- You can use our contact form. Include the type of business, number of locations and reason for your enquiry so that we can provide a more accurate response.
