Frequently asked questions about music for pharmacies
What type of music is suitable for a pharmacy?
- Soft, pleasant and unobtrusive music usually works best in a pharmacy. Styles such as Ambient, Chill-Out, relaxed Jazz, Light Pop and instrumental music can help create a professional environment without making conversations between staff and customers more difficult.
What benefits can background music offer a pharmacy?
- An appropriate music selection can make the premises feel more welcoming, accompany waiting periods and contribute to a calm and orderly atmosphere. The style and volume should be adapted to the size, acoustics and activity of the pharmacy.
Is instrumental music better than songs with vocals?
- Both options can work, although instrumental music or songs with discreet vocals are often more suitable for pharmacies. The priority is to maintain a calm environment in which customers can be served and conversations can take place comfortably.
What volume is recommended for music in a pharmacy?
- The music should remain in the background and must not interfere with conversations or professional customer service. Adjust the volume according to the floor area, acoustics, number of customers and distance between the speakers and the counter.
Is FreeMusix also suitable for health stores and personal care businesses?
- Yes. FreeMusix can be used in pharmacies, health and personal care stores, orthopaedic retailers and other businesses connected with healthcare, wellbeing and personal care, subject to the conditions of the contracted plan.
Do I need to install any special equipment?
- No. You can use a computer, tablet or mobile phone connected to your speakers or amplifier. For stable, continuous playback, we recommend using a dedicated device and a wired audio connection whenever possible.
When can I download the Certificate and supporting documentation?
- The Certificate and supporting documentation will be available in your Customer Area once the paid subscription is active. They will not be available during the 14-day free trial unless you expressly request immediate activation by email and waive the free trial period.
Should I keep the Certificate accessible in my pharmacy?
- We recommend keeping it accessible. Once the paid subscription is active, you will be able to provide the Certificate, the supporting documentation available in your Customer Area and the invoice associated with your contracted plan.
Can I play Spotify, YouTube or external music under the FreeMusix Certificate?
- No. The Certificate and supporting documentation apply exclusively to the music catalogue supplied by FreeMusix. Music, radio stations or playlists from other platforms fall outside the scope of the service.
Does subscribing to FreeMusix remove every other legal obligation?
- FreeMusix provides access to its catalogue and the documentation associated with the contracted service. However, regulations may vary according to the country, jurisdiction and type of premises, and additional obligations may apply in relation to local collecting societies, authorities or other organisations. We recommend checking the requirements applicable in each territory.
Does one subscription cover several pharmacies?
- Not automatically. Coverage across multiple pharmacies, locations or simultaneous playback systems will depend on the plan or tailored proposal contracted. We can prepare a combined solution for pharmacy groups and multi-site businesses.
Can you prepare a proposal for a pharmacy chain?
- Yes. We can assess the number of locations, floor areas, preferred music channels and management requirements to prepare a tailored proposal for pharmacy chains, groups and networks.
Can I request customised music programming?
- Yes. For multi-site and B2B projects, we can explore a music identity adapted to the pharmacy brand, the customer profile and different periods of the day.
How much does background music for a pharmacy cost?
- The price depends on the floor area of the premises. Annual plans start at €42 plus VAT for pharmacies of up to 50 m². For multiple locations, large premises or pharmacy chains, we can prepare a tailored proposal.
What should I provide if I am asked about the music used on the premises?
- You can provide the Certificate and supporting documentation available in your Customer Area, together with the invoice for the active plan. The information must correspond to the pharmacy and the conditions included in the contracted service.
