Frequently asked questions about music for spas and wellness centres
What type of music is suitable for a spa?
- Soft and immersive styles often work well, including Ambient, Chill-Out, instrumental music, piano, relaxed Jazz and atmospheric electronic music. The selection should suit the space, type of treatment and customer experience the business wishes to create.
What benefits can background music offer a wellness centre?
- Background music can reinforce the identity of the business, make the premises feel more pleasant and create continuity between reception areas, treatment rooms and relaxation spaces. The result depends on the music style, volume, acoustics and type of service being provided.
Is instrumental music better than songs with vocals?
- Instrumental music or tracks with very discreet vocals often work best in massage and treatment rooms. Soft songs can also be used in reception and waiting areas, provided they maintain a consistent style and do not become too prominent.
Can I play different music in the reception area and treatment rooms?
- This will depend on the technical configuration, the number of playback systems and the conditions of the contracted plan. Some businesses prefer brighter music in reception areas and calmer programming in massage rooms, treatment rooms or relaxation spaces.
What volume is recommended in a spa?
- The music should complement the atmosphere without interfering with conversations or treatments. The volume should be adjusted according to the acoustics, size of the room, activity taking place and distance between the speakers and customers.
Is FreeMusix also suitable for beauty, aesthetics and massage centres?
- Yes. FreeMusix can be used in spas, beauty and aesthetics centres, massage businesses, wellness facilities, hair salons, personal care centres and other premises seeking a professional background music solution.
How does the FreeMusix service work?
- You only need an active account, an internet connection and a device connected to your sound system. You can select a music channel and stream it using the FreeMusix web player or mobile app.
Do I need to install any special equipment?
- No specialist equipment is normally required. You can use a computer, tablet or mobile phone connected to your speakers or amplifier. For continuous use, we recommend a dedicated playback device and a stable internet and audio connection.
When can I download the Certificate and supporting documentation?
- The Certificate and supporting documentation will be available in your Customer Area once the paid subscription is active. They will not be available during the 14-day free trial unless you expressly request immediate activation by email and waive the free trial period.
Should I keep the Certificate accessible on the premises?
- We recommend keeping it accessible. Once the paid subscription is active, you can provide the Certificate, the supporting documentation available in your Customer Area and the invoice associated with the contracted plan.
Can I play Spotify, YouTube or external music under the FreeMusix Certificate?
- No. The Certificate and supporting documentation apply exclusively to the music catalogue supplied by FreeMusix. Music, radio stations and playlists from other platforms fall outside the scope of the service.
Does subscribing to FreeMusix remove every other legal obligation?
- FreeMusix provides access to its catalogue and the documentation associated with the contracted service. However, requirements may vary by country, jurisdiction, type of premises and manner of use. Additional obligations may apply in relation to local collecting societies, authorities or other organisations. We recommend checking the requirements applicable in each territory.
Does one subscription cover several wellness centres?
- Not automatically. Coverage across several premises, locations, playback areas or simultaneous playback systems will depend on the plan or tailored proposal contracted. We can prepare a combined solution for chains, franchises and multi-site organisations.
Can I request a customised music channel for my brand?
- For chains, franchises and multi-site projects, we can assess a music programme adapted to the brand identity, customer profile, different areas of the premises and periods of the day.
How much does music for a spa or wellness centre cost?
- The price depends on the floor area of the premises. Annual plans start at €42 plus VAT for centres of up to 50 m². For several locations, large spas or chains, we can prepare a tailored proposal.
What should I provide if I am asked about the music used on the premises?
- You can provide the Certificate and supporting documentation available in your Customer Area, together with the invoice for the active plan. The information should correspond to the premises and conditions included in the contracted service.
