Frequently asked questions about music for gyms
What type of music is suitable for a gym?
- Music with a steady rhythm often works well in training areas, including Electronic, Dance, House, energetic Pop, Urban and workout beats. Softer channels may be more suitable for reception areas, stretching spaces and wellness facilities.
What benefits can background music offer a gym?
- An appropriate music selection can reinforce the energy of the facility, accompany the pace of training and create an experience consistent with the gym’s identity. The result will depend on the style, volume, time of day and type of activity.
Can I change the music according to the time of day or area of the gym?
- Yes. You can select different channels throughout the day, such as calmer music during quieter periods, more energetic programming during peak hours and softer selections for reception or wellness areas.
Can I play different music in each area?
- This will depend on the sound system, number of playback devices and contracted configuration. Playing different channels simultaneously in cardio, strength-training, reception or wellness areas may require several devices or playback points.
Is FreeMusix suitable for instructor-led fitness classes?
- FreeMusix can be used as background music in the facility and for activities that do not require a specific musical choreography. For synchronised classes, timed intervals or choreographed sessions, the selected channel should be checked in advance to ensure it suits the structure of the class.
Is FreeMusix suitable for fitness studios and personal training centres?
- Yes. FreeMusix can be used in gyms, fitness studios, personal training centres, strength-training facilities, functional training spaces and other sports environments.
What volume is recommended in a gym?
- The volume should be sufficient to accompany the activity without making staff instructions or conversations difficult to hear. It should be adjusted according to the floor area, acoustics, number of members, type of activity and proximity of the speakers.
Do I need to install any special equipment?
- No specialist equipment is normally required. You can use a computer, tablet or mobile phone connected to the gym’s speakers or amplifier. For continuous use, we recommend a dedicated device, a stable internet connection and, whenever possible, a wired audio connection.
When can I download the Certificate and supporting documentation?
- The Certificate and supporting documentation will be available in your Customer Area once the paid subscription is active. They will not be available during the 14-day free trial unless you expressly request immediate activation by email and waive the free trial period.
Should I keep the Certificate accessible in the gym?
- We recommend keeping it accessible. Once the paid subscription is active, you can provide the Certificate, the supporting documentation available in your Customer Area and the invoice associated with the contracted plan.
Can I play Spotify, YouTube or external music under the FreeMusix Certificate?
- No. The Certificate and supporting documentation apply exclusively to the music catalogue supplied by FreeMusix. Music, radio stations and playlists from other platforms fall outside the scope of the service.
Does subscribing to FreeMusix remove every other legal obligation?
- FreeMusix provides access to its catalogue and the documentation associated with the contracted service. However, requirements may vary by country, jurisdiction, type of premises and manner of use. Additional obligations may apply in relation to local collecting societies, authorities or other organisations. We recommend checking the requirements applicable in each territory.
Does one subscription cover several gyms?
- Not automatically. Each gym, location or playback point must be included in the contracted plan or tailored proposal. We can prepare a combined solution for fitness chains, franchises and multi-site organisations.
Can I request a customised music channel for my fitness chain?
- For chains, franchises and multi-site projects, we can assess a music programme adapted to the brand identity, member profile, different areas of the facility and periods of the day.
How much does music for a gym cost?
- The price depends on the floor area of the premises. Annual plans start at €42 plus VAT for facilities of up to 50 m². For several locations, large sports centres or fitness chains, we can prepare a tailored proposal.
What should I provide if I am asked about the music used in the gym?
- You can provide the Certificate and supporting documentation available in your Customer Area, together with the invoice for the active plan. The information should correspond to the gym, location and conditions included in the contracted service.
